
Dhaka, December 14 (Udaipur Kiran) – Bangladesh has strongly condemned the drone attack on its peacekeepers deployed in Sudan under the United Nations peacekeeping mission. The attack on the UN base camp in Abyei on Saturday resulted in the death of six Bangladeshi peacekeepers and left eight others injured. Bangladesh expressed deep sorrow over the sacrifice of its brave soldiers.
According to The Daily Star, a statement from Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed profound grief over the loss of its valiant personnel and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The government and people of Bangladesh are praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The statement also mentioned that Bangladesh has requested the United Nations through its permanent mission in New York to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the wounded peacekeepers. Bangladesh’s mission in New York is maintaining continuous contact with the UN and coordinating efforts to provide all necessary support to the peacekeeping troops stationed there.
