Udaipur Children’s Play Inspires with Emotions, Dreams and a Touch of Space | Udaipur Kiran

Udaipur, 13 November (Udaipur Kiran) — Udaipur witnessed an unforgettable evening on Saturday when students from a government school brought alive a powerful blend of emotion, imagination and inspiration through their stage play “Google Kar Le Re…”. The open-air theatre at Vidya Bhavan echoed with applause as Indian astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who recently returned from space, stepped onto the stage with the young performers, turning the moment into one of pure joy and motivation.

The play highlighted the importance of thinking, reading and learning through experience in today’s digital age, rather than relying solely on technology. The storyline follows a journey of solving riddles through books, society and finally with the help of an astronaut—emphasising that knowledge lives not just on screens but in real-life experiences.

Guests were welcomed by Sunil S. Laddha, Dr. Kamlesh Sharma, Hemant Joshi and other members of Creative Circle. The programme began with the national anthem and was conducted by storyteller Rajat.

Government School Children Shine on Stage

In the presence of Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kellarwani, students of Government Higher Secondary School, Varda, delivered a heartfelt and confident performance. Their simplicity, sensitivity and powerful acting captivated the audience. Despite coming from rural backgrounds, the children displayed remarkable talent, making viewers laugh, reflect and even shed a tear.

Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla Lights Up the Evening

The most emotional moment arrived when Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla appeared in one of the scenes. He interacted warmly with the children, sharing his experiences from space in simple and relatable language. His gentle responses to their questions created an atmosphere filled with inspiration and human warmth, reminding everyone that great dreams often begin on small stages.

Thinking Beyond the Universe

Speaking at the end of the programme, Shukla encouraged the children to nurture big ideas and curiosity. He said the universe is vast, but human curiosity must be even greater, as it is curiosity that paves the way forward.

Creative Team Behind the Production

Written by Kahaniwala Rajat, the play was directed by Sunil Tank and Sonu Parihar (Jaipur). Additional Director of the Public Relations Department, Dr. Kamlesh Sharma, served as the sutradhar, giving the narrative a strong flow. The presence of artists such as Sunil S. Laddha, Hemant Joshi, Sandeep Rathore, Nilofer Munir and Priyanka Kothari boosted the confidence of the children on stage.

What the Play Depicted

In the story, schoolchildren are challenged by their teacher to solve three riddles without using Google, with a reward of Rs. 10,000. Their search takes them from the school library to a journalist, and then to two architects. Finally, the answer to the last riddle comes from astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who lovingly explains his experiences in space and helps them find the solution. The entire process of solving riddles without digital help forms the heart of the play.

Strong Support from Local Institutions

The inspiring event was made possible with the efforts of Creative Circle and strong support from RSMM, Wonder Cement, Neev, West Zone Cultural Centre Udaipur and Vidya Bhavan Society. Their collaboration offered government school students a platform to showcase their talent without any barriers.

Children Engage with the Astronaut

During the interaction, students asked Shukla many enthusiastic questions about space travel. He shared interesting insights about viewing Earth from space, living conditions there and the discipline and training required to become an astronaut. He emphasised that a strong foundation in science, hard work and confidence are essential to turning such dreams into reality. His encouraging words filled the children with new energy and aspirations in the field of space science.
