ITC Hotels Shares Slip After BAT Sells 9% Stake | Udaipur Kiran


Mumbai, December 9 (Udaipur Kiran): Shares of ITC Hotels Ltd were trading lower on the BSE on Tuesday after British American Tobacco (BAT) trimmed its stake in the company. The stock was trading at Rs 205.35, down by 0.65 points or 0.32 per cent from its previous close of Rs 206.00.

The scrip opened at Rs 206.05 and touched an intraday high of Rs 207.50 and a low of Rs 205.00. A total of 1,92,230 shares were traded on the counter during the session.

The BSE Group ‘B’ stock, with a face value of Rs 1, had touched a 52-week high of Rs 261.35 on July 21, 2025, and a 52-week low of Rs 158.00 on February 25, 2025. Over the last one week, the stock moved between a high of Rs 212.00 and a low of Rs 205.20. The company’s current market capitalisation stands at Rs 42,810.95 crore.

Promoter holding in the company stands at 39.85 per cent, while institutional and non-institutional investors hold 45.71 per cent and 14.44 per cent, respectively.

British American Tobacco has pared its 9 per cent stake in ITC Hotels through an open market transaction valued at around Rs 3,855.94 crore. BAT, through its three affiliates — Tobacco Manufacturers India, Myddleton Investment Company and Rothmans International Enterprises — sold 18.75 crore equity shares representing 9 per cent of the total shareholding at an average price of Rs 205.65 per share. Tobacco Manufacturers India, Myddleton Investment Company and Rothmans International Enterprises sold around 12.33 crore, 4.86 crore and 1.54 crore shares, respectively.

Meanwhile, HCL Capital, Nippon India Mutual Fund, Societe Generale, Morgan Stanley Asia (Singapore) Pte, Vanguard Group, BNP Paribas Arbitrage and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority have purchased 18.75 crore shares, representing a 9 per cent stake in the company, at a price of Rs 205.65 per share.

ITC Hotels is engaged in the business of owning, operating, managing and franchising hotels and resorts, with a focus on delivering authentic indigenous experiences in harmony with the environment and society.
