Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt Brought to Udaipur After Mumbai Arrest, to Be Produced in Court Today | Udaipur Kiran

Udaipur, December 9 (Udaipur Kiran): Bollywood film director Vikram Bhatt and his wife Shwetambari Bhatt, accused in a Rs 30 crore fraud case related to film production, were arrested in Mumbai and brought to Udaipur at around 10 pm last night. Both have been kept at the Women Crime and Investigation Cell located in Chitrakoot Nagar. The investigation of the case is being led by DSP Chhagan Rajpurohit, who is in charge of the same cell.

After reaching Udaipur, Vikram Bhatt and his wife were seen covering their faces in front of the media. The police will produce the Bhatt couple in the Udaipur court today. Both will be questioned on the basis of documents related to the alleged fraud. The accused has already challenged the case in the Jodhpur High Court, where the hearing is also scheduled for today.

In the same case, the bail pleas of Bhatt’s co-producer Mehboob Ansari and fake vendor Sandeep, who were arrested in Mumbai and brought to Udaipur on November 16, were heard in the Udaipur court on Monday. The court rejected Mehboob Ansari’s bail application, while vendor Sandeep was granted conditional bail.

On December 7, a six-member team led by Udaipur DSP Chhagan Rajpurohit reached Mumbai and arrested Vikram Bhatt and his wife from their flat in the Ganga Bhavan complex in Juhu. When the police arrived, security guards allegedly tried to mislead them by stating that Bhatt and his wife were not present at home. However, the police already had confirmed information, after which both were arrested.
