
Washington, December 6 (Udaipur Kiran) – US President Donald Trump, who has continuously made claims about deserving the Nobel Peace Prize, has been awarded FIFA’s Peace Award.
During the FIFA World Cup 2026 draw held on Friday at the Kennedy Center in Washington, American President Trump was honoured with the first FIFA Peace Award.
Trump, who constantly describes himself as the greatest messenger of peace, was given the first FIFA Peace Award. The award was presented during the FIFA World Cup draw held in Washington on December 5. FIFA President Gianni Infantino honoured Trump with a medal and trophy, stating that this award encourages work done to promote peace and unity worldwide.
Upon receiving the FIFA Peace Award, Trump claimed his role in various global conflicts including Congo, saying that the world is now safer. He said this is one of the greatest honours of his life.
The White House shared a post on social platform X regarding this, stating that the FIFA Peace Award reflects President Trump’s dedication to peace.
It is noteworthy that the Football World Cup 2026 is being jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament will begin on June 11 and 104 matches will be played across 16 cities. However, several questions are being raised about Trump being given the first FIFA Peace Award during this sporting event. A large number of people are criticising the linking of such a major sporting event with political messages.
