68500 Assistant Teacher Recruitment Dispute Continues, HC Seeks Reply | Udaipur Kiran

Prayagraj, December 4 (Udaipur Kiran): The controversy over disputed questions in the Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2018 for 68,500 posts is still unresolved. After the declaration of results, candidates had alleged irregularities, prompting the Examination Regulatory Authority to conduct a re-evaluation in which 4,800 new candidates were selected. Even after this, dissatisfaction over several questions continued.

On the directions of the High Court, a third round of evaluation was carried out, in which more candidates were declared successful. However, many aspirants are still unhappy with the answers to certain questions and have filed fresh petitions in the High Court.

A division bench comprising Justice Soumitra Dayal Singh and Justice Swaroopma Chaturvedi, while hearing a petition filed by Archana Yadav, has sought a reply from the government on the question dispute and directed it to submit its response within two weeks.

The petitioner’s counsel informed the court that the initial result was declared on August 13, 2018, in which the petitioner secured 63 marks. After re-evaluation, her marks increased to 66. Following the High Court’s order dated September 18, 2020, a third evaluation was done, in which she was awarded 64 marks. With each evaluation, her marks changed. The cut-off for the General and OBC categories in the 2018 recruitment was 67 marks.

It was alleged that the Examination Regulatory Authority has been changing answers repeatedly with each re-evaluation, leading to widespread dissatisfaction and anger among students. It was also stated that nearly 17,000 posts are still vacant out of the total 68,500 seats.
