Mumbai, December 3 – Television’s most popular quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC) brings forward those stories and struggles that make the lives of common people and celebrities extraordinary. In this episode, viewers got the chance to meet two highly inspiring personalities. India’s youngest cricket star Shefali Verma and famous comedian Sudesh Lahiri achieved success after considerable struggle.
They spoke about the initial difficulties and struggles of their lives on the show. Shefali Verma shared details about the beginning of her sports journey in this episode.
She mentioned that her first international match was not that easy for her. Her first innings started with zero, and she still remembers this moment clearly.
She said, “My family’s financial condition was quite weak. My father used to get cricket training for my brother first. I often went with them and would tease from behind that this practice is easy. One day my father asked me to try it myself. When I played the first two balls, my father was quite impressed seeing this.”
Shefali explained that there was no women’s cricket academy in her area, so she had to play with boys. Once her brother fell ill before a tournament. Then she wore her brother’s T-shirt, which had his name ‘Sahil’ written on it, played the match in his place and became the best player in the entire tournament. This moment proved to be the biggest turning point of her life.
When Amitabh Bachchan asked her how many runs she scored in her debut for India, Shefali said, “My first innings started with zero. I felt a bit embarrassed too.”
To this, Amitabh Bachchan explained that there is nothing wrong with starting from zero, because the person who starts from zero becomes a hero in the future.
This moment proved to be very inspiring not only for Shefali but also for the viewers.
After this, Sudesh Lahiri also appeared on the show. He talked about the difficulties of his childhood.
Sudesh Lahiri said, “Due to poverty, I never went to school, I didn’t even do nursery. In childhood, I had more interest in films and Amitabh sir has always been my inspiration. The first time I went to watch the film ‘Shankar Shambhu’ in a theatre, someone had helped me go there by giving me money.”
Sudesh Lahiri also recalled many funny and memorable scenes from Amitabh Bachchan’s films. He mentioned that he watched films like ‘Ganga Ki Saugandh’, ‘Namak Halaal’, and ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ repeatedly. People know Amitabh ji as the ‘Angry Young Man’, but he has learned comedy from him.
