Sensex, Nifty Hit Fresh Record Highs in Early Trade | Udaipur Kiran


New Delhi, December 1 (Udaipur Kiran): The domestic stock market opened on a strong note on Monday, with both the Sensex and the Nifty touching fresh all-time highs in early trade. Supported by buying interest, the benchmark indices surged within the first half hour of trading. However, profit booking later led to a slight pullback from record levels. After the first hour of trade, the Sensex was up 0.32 per cent, while the Nifty was trading 0.30 per cent higher.

Among the major stocks, JSW Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (TMPV), Maruti Suzuki, and HCL Technologies were trading with gains ranging between 0.67 per cent and 1.54 per cent. On the other hand, Bajaj Finance, Tata Consumer Products, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Cipla, and Titan Company were trading with losses between 0.61 per cent and 0.94 per cent.

During active trading, 2,058 shares were traded on the stock market. Of these, 1,278 shares were trading in the green, while 780 shares were in the red. On the Sensex, 23 of the 30 stocks were trading with gains, while 7 stocks were under selling pressure. On the Nifty, 36 out of 50 stocks were in the green, while 14 stocks were trading in the red.

The BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 359.25 points at 86,065.92. With strong buying support, the index climbed further and, within the first half hour, touched a new all-time high of 86,159.09. After hitting this level, some profit booking was seen, which led to a minor decline. Despite this, the Sensex continued to trade in positive territory. At 10:15 am, after one hour of trading, the Sensex was up 271.37 points at 85,978.04.

Similarly, the NSE Nifty started the session with a jump of 122.85 points at a new record level of 26,325.80. Soon after the market opened, profit booking pushed the index lower. Due to continued selling pressure, the Nifty slipped to around 26,263.20 by 10 am. However, it remained in positive territory throughout. After the first hour of trade, at 10:15 am, the Nifty was trading 78.85 points higher at 26,281.80.

On the previous trading day, Friday, the Sensex had closed at 85,706.67, down by 13.71 points or 0.02 per cent. The Nifty had also ended lower by 12.60 points or 0.05 per cent at 26,202.95.
