Udaipur (Udaipur Kiran)। Frequent high-profile weddings in Udaipur are causing major inconvenience to local commuters as VIP movements lead to multiple road blocks across the city. Residents say they have nothing to do with such ceremonies, yet they are forced to suffer long traffic jams and delays.

On Friday evening around 7 pm, the road leading towards Dabok near Debari Flyover was shut nearly 30 minutes in advance to ensure smooth passage for a VIP convoy heading to the airport. The sudden road closure triggered a massive traffic jam that stretched up to Pratap Nagar, leaving thousands stranded.

Residents expressed strong anger over the new VIP route plan reportedly being followed. According to complaints, VIP convoys are being taken from Fatehpura to Sukher and then directly to Debari Flyover, during which an entire lane is fully blocked, halting regular traffic.

People alleged that just for the movement of one or two VIPs, nearly 10,000 to 15,000 daily commuters—already exhausted after work—are forced to wait on the road for no fault of their own. They claimed officials are ignoring the difficulties faced by common people who depend on these major roads for their daily travel.
