Noida, 22 November (Udaipur Kiran)। The weather has taken a sharp turn in the National Capital Region (NCR), with winter setting in during the last week of November. Temperatures are continuously falling and the chill in the air has started to rise.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cold conditions will intensify during early mornings and late evenings in the coming days. Dense fog is also expected to affect visibility. Compared to Thursday and Friday, a clear drop in maximum temperatures is likely on Saturday and Sunday. The day temperature, which was around 27°C earlier, is expected to fall to 24–25°C.
The minimum temperature has also declined significantly. Night temperatures may drop to 9°C in the next few days, indicating a sharper increase in cold. IMD has predicted a noticeable rise in fog density in NCR between 23 and 27 November.
Light fog is expected on 23 November, while 24, 25 and 27 November may see moderate fog due to high humidity and falling temperatures. However, no formal weather warning has been issued yet.
Experts say that this is just the beginning of winter, and temperatures may drop further in the coming days. Cold winds along with snowfall in northern hill regions have begun to impact the plains. People are advised to take extra precautions, especially during mornings and evenings.
Health experts have urged children, elderly people and those suffering from respiratory illnesses to avoid unnecessary exposure to foggy and cold weather. Motorists have been advised to use headlamps and fog lights and maintain slow speeds while driving in dense fog.
