Low Pressure Likely to Form Over Bay of Bengal; Odisha May See Rain from Nov 27 | Udaipur Kiran

Bhubaneswar, 21 November (Udaipur Kiran). A fresh low-pressure area is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal, raising the possibility of rainfall over Odisha from November 27. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) shared the forecast on Friday.

According to IMD, a cyclonic circulation has already developed over the central parts of the Malacca Strait. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around November 22. The system is expected to move northwestwards and intensify into a depression by November 24.

It may further strengthen over the next 48 hours while moving over the southwest Bay of Bengal. IMD has indicated that the developing system could bring rainfall to several districts of Odisha for nearly a week, with coastal areas likely to experience more significant impact.

However, the weather agency has not yet confirmed whether the system will intensify into a cyclonic storm.
