Cold Wave Alert Issued for Durg, Bilaspur and Surguja Divisions in Chhattisgarh | Udaipur Kiran

Raipur, 21 November (Udaipur Kiran). A sharp drop in temperatures has led to intense cold conditions across Chhattisgarh. As per the latest report from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Raipur centre, minimum temperatures in several parts of the state have fallen 2 to 5 degrees below normal.

Morning and evening hours have become particularly chilly, prompting the IMD to issue a cold wave alert for Durg, Bilaspur and Surguja divisions. These regions are witnessing the biggest dip in night and early-morning temperatures.

In many districts, minimum temperatures have dipped below 10°C. However, slight temperature improvement in some areas of Raipur and Bastar divisions has provided mild relief. The effect of cold winds from the north has also reduced slightly, according to the IMD.

The weather department further said that minimum temperatures may gradually rise by 2 to 3°C over the next five days, offering some respite.

The weather remained dry across the state during the last 24 hours. The highest maximum temperature of 30°C was recorded in Durg, while the lowest minimum temperature of 10.4°C was noted in Ambikapur.

For Raipur, the IMD has predicted clear skies today, with maximum temperatures expected around 30°C and minimum temperatures near 15°C.
