Mitchell Tops ODI Rankings as Bumrah Stays No.1 in Tests | Udaipur Kiran

New Delhi, 19 November (Udaipur Kiran)  — New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has overtaken India’s Rohit Sharma to claim the top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI batting rankings. However, Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the Test bowlers’ rankings.

Mitchell scored 119 runs in the first ODI against West Indies on 16 November. Although he was later ruled out of the remaining matches due to a back injury, he became the first New Zealand player since Glenn Turner in 1979 to reach No.1 in ODI batting. With this, Rohit Sharma’s 22-day stint at the top has come to an end. Mitchell climbed two places, moving ahead of Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran and Rohit Sharma.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam moved to sixth position after his 102-run knock against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi. Teammates Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman also improved their rankings, rising to 22nd and 26th spots respectively after scoring two half-centuries each in the series.

Among ODI bowlers, Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed jumped 11 places to break into the top 10, securing the ninth position after taking 3/41 against Sri Lanka. Fast bowler Haris Rauf climbed five spots to 23rd, while West Indies’ Jayden Seales rose to 20th. Roston Chase also gained 12 places to move to 46th.

In the ICC Test rankings, Jasprit Bumrah remains at the top after claiming six wickets against South Africa. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav advanced two places to a career-best 13th rank, while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja moved up four spots to 15th.

South African off-spinner Simon Harmer, who picked up eight wickets at Eden Gardens, made a significant rise of 20 places to reach a career-best 24th position.
