Udaipur (Udaipur Kiran). Tension erupted in Udaipur’s Sundarwas area late on Friday night after the severed remains of cattle were found by the roadside. Angry residents blocked the Pratapnagar–Sundarwas road, prompting the presence of police teams from three stations—Pratapnagar, Hiran Magri and Ghantaghar.
The incident took place around midnight in the Mandal area of Sundarwas. Around 11 pm, locals spotted a calf’s severed head and hoof lying near the road, while the torso was missing. Outraged by the sight, residents came out of their colony and parked vehicles on the main Pratapnagar–Sundarwas road, causing a complete blockade.
As soon as information about the protest spread, DSP Rajesh Yadav, Pratapnagar SHO Rajendra Singh, Hiran Magri SHO Bharat Yogi and teams from all three police stations reached the spot. After hours of discussion, the forensic team collected samples, an FIR was registered and the police assured a fair investigation, which eventually calmed the situation.
Local residents said there is neither a garbage collection point nor a slaughterhouse in Sundarwas, raising questions about how the cattle remains reached the locality. They also alleged that this is not the first such incident—similar cases occurred twice earlier, but no concrete investigation was carried out. Residents said they have protested before as well, demanding strict action and proper inquiry.
