Udaipur’s Ishti Singh Devda Wins Bronze at All India Pistol Shooting Championship | Udaipur Kiran


Ahmedabad, November 11 (Udaipur Kiran) — Udaipur’s young shooting talent Ishti Singh Devda from Mewar Rifle Shooting Club has brought pride to Rajasthan by winning the individual bronze medal in the .22 Sports Pistol (Youth Category) event at the All India G.V. Mavlankar Pistol Shooting Championship, held at the Military and Rifle Club, Khanpur, Ahmedabad (Gujarat).

Competing in the 25-metre sports pistol discipline, Ishti displayed remarkable precision, concentration, and composure, achieving this outstanding feat in her very first national attempt. Her medal-winning performance has placed her among India’s most promising young pistol shooters.

Ishti first qualified for the prestigious national event and went on to stun everyone with her impressive score of 272/300, balancing both precision and duelling rounds with exceptional skill.

Her coach and Rajasthan team manager, Dr. Jitendra Singh Mayda, informed the family about her success over the phone and congratulated her for her stellar performance. Dr. Mayda added that Ishti will now represent Rajasthan in the upcoming National Championship scheduled to be held in Delhi this December.

Ishti’s father, Vikram Singh Devda, expressed pride in his daughter’s achievement, while her mother, Smriti Devda, who manages the family business, shared that both her daughters are deeply passionate about shooting. Ishti’s elder sister, Sudiksha Devda, is also a national-level rifle shooter and medalist.

A student of Class 12 at Delhi Public School, Udaipur, Ishti trains regularly at the Mewar Rifle Shooting Club, Gunzhol, Nathdwara.
