DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma Holds Key Meeting Focused on Discipline, Training, and Welfare of Rajasthan Police Personnel | Udaipur Kiran

Jaipur, November 8 (Udaipur Kiran): Rajasthan Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma on Friday chaired a special meeting with district reserve inspectors and line officers across all districts, emphasizing discipline, training, and welfare of police personnel and their families.

He said that police lines are an integral part of the police system, where personnel spend a major part of their lives. “It is essential that our police lines remain clean, well-equipped, and capable of providing all basic facilities to police families,” DGP Sharma stressed.

Focus on Welfare and Facilities

DGP Sharma directed that each district police line must have schools, dispensaries, gyms, libraries, canteens, and recreational facilities for personnel and their families.

He announced that libraries will be opened in all police lines by December 31 and instructed officials to activate family welfare committees in each district. Regular inspections of mess facilities, barracks, toilets, food quality, and recreation infrastructure were also mandated.

Discussions were held on health check-up facilities, and officers were encouraged to organize such camps regularly.

Mental Health and Helpline Support

Highlighting the importance of mental health, DGP Sharma said a dedicated helpline number will soon be launched for outstation police personnel seeking medical assistance in Jaipur. He also emphasized including mental health screening alongside regular health check-ups.

He instructed that cultural programs should be held periodically to boost morale and camaraderie among police personnel.

Support for Retired and Deceased Officers’ Families

To ensure welfare support, DGP Sharma directed the establishment of help desks and counselling centers in all districts for the families of retired and deceased officers. A dedicated welfare officer will be appointed in each district to assist with service-related matters, including compassionate appointments.

Women Welfare and Empowerment

Addressing the needs of women police personnel, he instructed the identification of separate toilets and barracks for women in police lines and the creation of better working conditions.

He also directed the establishment of creches for children and vocational training programs for women family members, enabling them to become financially independent. Headquarters will provide necessary resources for these initiatives.

Capacity Building and Training

DGP Sharma emphasized the importance of continuous learning through refresher courses on law, technology, and practical policing. He directed the inclusion of professional and stress management training as regular activities in police lines and encouraged personnel to take maximum advantage of the iGOT Karmayogi platform for online learning.

Maintaining Discipline

Calling discipline the hallmark of the police force, DGP Sharma ordered mandatory PT parades every Monday and Friday, proper turnout inspections, and reward systems for exemplary performance. A rotation-based duty schedule will also be implemented for fair workload distribution.

Maintenance and Law & Order Duties

He directed that all government properties and facilities in police lines be properly maintained with regular monitoring. Offices, barracks, armouries, toilets, and old records must be managed and disposed of systematically.

DGP Sharma also stressed ensuring adequate arrangements for housing, drinking water, and essential amenities for personnel deployed on law and order duties, especially those stationed outside their home districts. Supervising officers must coordinate with district authorities to ensure these arrangements are in place.
