Bhopal, November 5 (Udaipur Kiran): The weather in Madhya Pradesh has begun to change as winter slowly sets in. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall with thunder in parts of eastern Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, along with a notable drop in night temperatures across several regions.
In the Gwalior-Chambal division, night temperatures have fallen below 18°C, accompanied by dense fog in the early hours. Most cities in the state recorded daytime temperatures around 30°C, and similar weather conditions are expected to continue through Wednesday.
Rain Alert for 16 Districts
The weather office has issued a light rainfall alert for Raisen, Harda, Narmadapuram, Betul, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Jabalpur, Katni, Seoni, Umaria, Shahdol, Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, and Balaghat districts. Meanwhile, Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain are expected to experience clear skies and sunshine throughout the day. On November 6, light rain may occur in Chhindwara, Seoni, and Balaghat.
Cyclonic Circulation and Western Disturbance Influence
Meteorologists say a cyclonic circulation system is currently active over Madhya Pradesh, causing scattered rainfall. Additionally, a new Western Disturbance is forming and expected to reach the Himalayan region in the coming days, likely leading to snowfall and colder conditions in North India. Its impact will also bring a further dip in temperatures across Madhya Pradesh.
Cold to Intensify After November 10
The department forecasts partly cloudy skies and light showers until November 6, after which cold winds from the north will bring temperatures down by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. The second week of November will mark a notable increase in winter chill, with a sharp drop expected after November 15.
On Tuesday, most districts recorded daytime temperatures 1–2°C below normal. Pachmarhi, the state’s only hill station, was the coldest location at 24.6°C. Other cities such as Shivpuri, Sheopur, Ratlam, Raisen, Indore, Gwalior, Betul, Dhar, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Sidhi, Tikamgarh, and Malajkhand saw daytime highs below 30°C.
