Cold Wave Begins to Grip Rajasthan as Northern Winds Lower Temperatures | Udaipur Kiran

Jaipur, November 5 (Udaipur Kiran): Winter has begun to make its presence felt across Rajasthan as cold northern winds sweep through the state, leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures. After the recent spell of western disturbance, weather conditions have now turned dry and cooler, marking the onset of winter chill.

On November 4, several parts of the state experienced cloudy skies, light rain, and hailstorms. Districts including Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Kota, Karauli, Baran, and Ajmer saw strong winds and intermittent showers. In Hanumangarh, some areas also reported hail accompanied by stormy rainfall.

According to the Meteorological Department, the influence of the western disturbance over North India has now subsided, paving the way for cold winds from the north, which are expected to bring temperatures down by 2–3°C in the coming days.

Sirohi recorded the lowest maximum temperature in the state at 23.5°C, making it Rajasthan’s coldest district on Tuesday. In comparison, the day temperatures were 28°C in Jaipur, 28.7°C in Kota, 29.8°C in Alwar, 28°C in Ajmer, 26.2°C in Dungarpur, and 26.5°C in Karauli.

Weather experts predict that regions such as Shekhawati, Jaipur, Bikaner, and Bharatpur divisions will witness a sharp decline in night temperatures. Across Jaipur and other parts of the state, cold mornings and evenings have already begun. Residents are now seen turning off fans, wearing warm clothes, and feeling the early winter chill during morning walks and commutes.
