
Udaipur, November 2 (Udaipur Kiran) — The Rajasthan Excise Department has intensified its statewide crackdown on illegal liquor production, storage, transportation, and sale under the directions of Excise Commissioner Shiv Prasad Nakate. As part of this special preventive campaign, extensive raids, patrols, and checkpoints were conducted, resulting in several cases being registered and large quantities of illicit liquor destroyed.
Supervised by Additional Excise Commissioner (Administration) O.P. Jain and Additional Excise Commissioner (Policy) Pradeep Singh Sangawat, the department has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards liquor smuggling from other states and the illegal liquor trade within Rajasthan.
In Jaipur Rural, excise teams raided Kankarol Khora village under Shahpura excise police station limits, destroying 55 litres of wash and registering two cases. In Hanumangarh, 131 bottles of country liquor were seized in Nohar. Similarly, a vehicle inspection drive was carried out on Sirsa Bypass Road, Bhadra, to check illegal transportation.
In Nagaur, 10 litres of illicit liquor were seized, 1,500 litres of wash destroyed, and two cases registered. In Suratgarh (Sriganganagar district), 100 litres of wash were destroyed, and three cases were registered following patrolling and raid operations. Jhalawar authorities seized 58 litres of illicit liquor and destroyed 900 litres of wash. In Jodhpur’s Sardar Pura area (Masooria locality), 350 litres of wash were destroyed, and four cases were filed.
Similar anti-liquor drives are being conducted in all districts across the state. All Additional Excise Commissioners (Zones), Deputy Excise Commissioners, District Excise Officers, Inspectors, and Preventive Teams are actively involved in enforcing the zero-tolerance policy to curb illicit liquor activities.
