
Dehradun, November 1 (Udaipur Kiran). The world-famous Valley of Flowers in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, has been officially closed for tourists for the season. The UNESCO World Heritage Site will reopen to visitors on June 1 next year.
According to the Nanda Devi National Park administration, a total of 15,924 tourists, including 416 foreign visitors, explored the valley between June 1 and October 31 this year. The park generated a revenue of ₹33 lakh during this period.
Located at an altitude of 3,658 metres above sea level, the Valley of Flowers is home to more than 500 species of blooming plants. It remains open to tourists from June 1 to October 31 every year, coinciding with the monsoon bloom.
Ranger Chetna Kandpal informed that the number of tourists visiting the valley this year was lower compared to last year. Despite the decline, the valley continues to attract nature lovers and trekkers from across the world for its breathtaking floral beauty and pristine landscapes.
