Honor Magic 8 Ultra Leak Reveals Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Chip, 7,000mAh Battery, and 200MP Periscope Camera | Udaipur Kiran

(Udaipur Kiran / Tech Desk) — After launching the Honor Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro in China, the company is reportedly gearing up to introduce the Honor Magic 8 Ultra — a true ultra-premium flagship designed to rival the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Oppo Find X9 Ultra, and Vivo X300 Ultra. A new leak on Weibo from a trusted tipster (Digital Chat Station) has now revealed key details about the upcoming device’s specifications.

Honor Magic 8 Ultra: Expected Specifications

According to the leak, the Honor Magic 8 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, Qualcomm’s most advanced processor expected to power flagship Android phones in 2026.

  • Display: The phone is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED quad-curved display with 1.5K resolution, offering smoother refresh rates and improved energy efficiency. It will include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and support 3D face recognition for enhanced security.

Camera: New OmniVision Sensor and High-End Zoom

On the rear, the Magic 8 Ultra is expected to sport a 50MP OmniVision OV50R main sensor with ultra-high dynamic range (HDR) capabilities. According to earlier reports, this sensor will enter mass production in early 2026.

Additionally, the phone is likely to feature a periscope telephoto lens using a large 200MP sensor, capable of 4.3x to 7x optical zoom — positioning it as one of the most powerful zoom smartphones in its class.

Performance and Battery

The Magic 8 Ultra will reportedly run MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. Powering the device will be a massive 7,000mAh battery, ensuring extended usage for heavy users. Although the latest leak didn’t specify charging details, it is expected to support 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, similar to the Magic 8 Pro.

Launch Timeline

As per current information, the Honor Magic 8 Ultra is expected to debut in the first half of 2026, expanding the Magic 8 lineup further. The company also plans to introduce a Dimensity 9500-powered Magic 8 Mini, a smaller yet performance-focused flagship.

Before that, Honor is expected to launch the Honor 500 series in November 2025 in China, followed by the Honor GT 2 lineup in December 2025, setting the stage for a busy product cycle leading into 2026.

If the leaks hold true, the Honor Magic 8 Ultra could mark one of the biggest leaps in mobile imaging and endurance in the premium flagship segment.
