Jaipur, October 27 (Udaipur Kiran): In a major breakthrough against organised crime, the Rajasthan Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has achieved significant success with the detention of notorious gangster Jagdeep Singh alias Jagga, a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and currently associated with the Rohit Godara gang, in the United States.
According to Additional Director General of Police (AGTF/ATS/ANTF) Dinesh M.N., the fugitive gangster, a resident of Dhurokot in Moga district, Punjab, had been operating from abroad and was actively involved in extortion and firing incidents in Punjab and Rajasthan. Jagga had fled India three years ago using his passport to reach Dubai, and later entered the US illegally.
Due to multiple criminal cases pending against him in Rajasthan and Punjab, several non-bailable warrants were issued following his bail jump.
Multiple Cases in Punjab and Rajasthan
Jagdeep Singh alias Jagga has over a dozen criminal cases registered against him in Punjab and has been declared a proclaimed offender by the court. In Rajasthan, he faces charges registered at Pratap Nagar and Sardarpura police stations in Jodhpur.
In March 2017, he was involved in a firing and murder attempt on Dr. Sunil Chandak in Jodhpur’s Pratap Nagar area. Later, in September 2017, he was linked to the murder of Vasudev Israni in Sardarpura and was jailed along with Lawrence Bishnoi and Anmol Bishnoi.
AGTF’s Surveillance and International Coordination
Under the supervision of then DIG Yogesh Yadav and current DIG Deepak Bhargava, the AGTF team kept continuous surveillance on Jagga’s activities and local contacts. After tracing his overseas movements, the team established coordination with international agencies, leading to his detention by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) near the Canada-US border.
Extradition Process Underway
Jagga is currently in US police custody, and legal extradition procedures are in progress to bring him back to India. Officials said his interrogation upon return is expected to reveal vital information about other members of the Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Godara gangs.
Based on the findings, further cases will be filed under Section 111 of the Indian Penal Code and stringent action will be taken against those linked to organised crime.

The successful operation was executed under the direction of ADG Dinesh M.N., with the active participation of Additional SP Siddhant Sharma, Narottam Verma, Inspector Ravindra Pratap, Sunil Jangid, Manish Sharma, Kamal Puri, Head Constable Ramesh Kumar, Constables Subhash Chand and Surendra Kumar, among others.
