Mumbai, October 25 (Udaipur Kiran): The much-awaited trailer of Rashmika Mandanna’s romantic drama ‘The Girlfriend’ has finally been released, setting social media abuzz. The film, directed by Rahul Ravindran, promises an emotional and thought-provoking take on modern relationships and love.

Rashmika shared the trailer on her official Instagram handle, writing, “This is not a regular love story; it will make you think. Presenting the trailer of ‘The Girlfriend’.”

The film stars Rashmika Mandanna as Bhooma and Dheekshith Shetty as Vikram in the lead roles, while Anu Emmanuel, Rao Ramesh, and Rohini play key supporting characters.

A Toxic Love Story

The 2-minute 39-second trailer explores the complexities of a toxic relationship between Bhooma and Vikram. While Bhooma appears as a simple, soft-spoken girl, Vikram is portrayed as a possessive, violent, and dominating boyfriend struggling with jealousy and anger.

The trailer opens with Bhooma nervously asking, “Can we take a break?” — to which Vikram coldly replies, “Break means break from one person.” The story then flashes back to their early days of romance, where Vikram hastily proposes saying, “There’s a good muhurat the day after tomorrow, let’s get married.”

As the narrative unfolds, it delves into the darker shades of love, control, and obsession, showing how relationships can spiral into emotional turmoil.

‘The Girlfriend’ will release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, expanding its reach across India.
