Jaipur, October 25 (Udaipur Kiran): In a major move to curb organized crime across Rajasthan, Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma chaired a high-level meeting at the Police Headquarters in Jaipur on Saturday. The meeting focused on intensifying state-level action against active criminal gangs and hardcore offenders operating in different districts.

Senior officers including Range IGs, Commissioners, Superintendents of Police (SPs) from 15 districts, and officials from DST, Cyber Cell, ATS, and Crime Branch participated. The meeting aimed to identify major criminal networks and devise strict, coordinated strategies for their complete dismantling.

Zero Tolerance Against Organized Crime

DGP Sharma reiterated that the Rajasthan Police is following a zero-tolerance policy towards organized crime. He instructed all district units to take swift and effective action against those involved in gang operations, extortion, firing, and murder. “Our top priority is to ensure public safety and dismantle the environment of fear created by such criminals. Every police officer must work with full commitment to this cause,” he said.

Statewide Crackdown and Strategy

The DGP directed that action must not be limited to individual offenders but should target the entire criminal network, including supporters, financiers, and those promoting gang activities on social media. He emphasized the use of Section 111 of the BNS to act against active gang members, along with confiscation of illegal assets and disruption of financial channels.

District and range officials presented detailed operational plans to neutralize gang activities in their respective areas. DGP Sharma urged all units to share intelligence across districts to ensure coordinated state-level action.

Key Officials Present

Among those present were AGTF Chief Dinesh M.N., ADG Biju George Joseph, Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal, ADG (Crime Branch) Hawa Singh, and senior officers from Bikaner, Ajmer, and Jodhpur ranges.

Review of Serious Crimes

The meeting also reviewed pending cases related to firing, murder, and extortion. DGP Sharma directed immediate arrests in cases where accused persons are absconding and instructed districts to run special campaigns to track fugitives. He also asked for detailed reports on charge-sheet submissions in courts.

He noted that some districts have reported threat calls from gang members, and directed technical analysis and immediate response in such cases. “No element of fear or intimidation by criminals will be tolerated at any level,” he asserted.
