Chittorgarh, October 24 (Udaipur Kiran) – A dramatic incident resembling a movie chase unfolded in Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh district, where unidentified men opened fire at a moving car on the Kapasan Highway under the Chanderiya police station area on Thursday evening. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation, while an FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team from Udaipur arrived nearly 24 hours after the firing to collect evidence.
According to the complaint filed by Dashrath Singh, a resident of Banakiya Khurd, he was driving from Chittorgarh towards his village when another car began chasing him near Narpat ki Khedi bridge. As he crossed Mataji ki Pandoli, the pursuing vehicle came alongside, and the occupants allegedly brandished a gun, prompting him to speed up.
Dashrath Singh stated that the attackers tried to block his way by swerving their car in front of his vehicle. When he attempted to overtake, one of the assailants fired a shot, which hit the car door and got lodged in it, narrowly missing him. Singh immediately informed his brother over the phone as he sped away.
Despite the gunfire, the accused continued chasing his vehicle, forcing Singh to drive in the opposite direction to escape. His brother soon arrived at Purohiton ka Sanwata Petrol Pump in a pickup vehicle, after which the attackers fled toward Chittorgarh.
Following the report, Chanderiya police reached the scene and registered a case against Shyamlal, son of Jeetmal Sahu, and another unidentified person from Banakiya Khurd. Police have begun their search for the absconding suspects.
On Friday evening, an FSL team from Udaipur arrived to assist in the forensic examination. The team inspected the car parked at Chanderiya police station and collected vital ballistic and physical evidence for further investigation.
