Udaipur, October 18 (Udaipur Kiran): Udaipur’s Surajpol Police have arrested a man for allegedly creating fake Instagram accounts and using an AI application to edit and circulate obscene photos and videos of a married woman on social media.
According to police, the incident came to light on October 6, 2025, when a married woman from Kishanpol filed a complaint stating that an unknown person had made multiple fake Instagram profiles in her name and was uploading AI-edited obscene photos and videos to defame her. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and began an investigation.
Taking the matter seriously, Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal directed a special team under the supervision of Additional SP Umesh Ojha and Circle Officer (East) Chhagan Purohit, led by Station House Officer (SHO) Ratan Singh Chauhan, to trace and arrest the accused.
Using technical surveillance, the team identified and arrested Sadiq (28), son of Late Iqbal, a resident of Saidupur Lashkariganj, Police Station Bithri Chainpur, Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), from Udaipur. Police also seized the mobile phone used in the crime.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that he had created fake Instagram IDs and edited the woman’s photos and videos using AI apps out of revenge after she refused his friendship.
Following the investigation, the accused was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
