Udaipur, October 14 (Udaipur Kiran): A marble trader in Udaipur died by suicide after consuming poison inside his factory, police said on Tuesday. The trader left a suicide note in which he apologised and blamed five people for his mounting financial troubles.
The note, submitted to police, named Amarjeet Singh Kanda, Aman Kanda, Jatin Kanda, Sanat Siklikar and Titu Sardar, saying they charged interest beyond the principal and continued to pressure him for repayment. The deceased wrote, “Very many efforts but failed. I apologise to everyone.” He also stated he had borrowed from family, friends and acquaintances and could not repay the loans after five years of mounting debt.
According to the note, the accused charged interest ranging from 7.50% to 18%, with punitive penalties for delay. The trader wrote that these lenders were “mostly responsible” for his decision and added, “I wanted to kill them and then die.”
The incident occurred in the Sukher police station area. Police said they are investigating the case and are treating the suicide note as an important piece of evidence. No further details about the deceased were released by authorities at the time of the report.
