
Udaipur (Udaipur Kiran): The Department of Psychiatry at the Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Udaipur, observed Mental Health Week based on the World Health Organization (WHO) theme — “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right: Access to Services During Disasters and Emergencies.”
The event commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, attended by Dr. Suresh Goyal (Dean), Dr. Praveen Khairkar (Head of Psychiatry Department), Dr. Dilip Kumar, Dr. Harish Mathur, and Dr. S.N. Jhadhav.
To promote awareness about the importance of mental health services during crises, the institute organized rangoli, poster-making, speech, and poetry competitions. Students and faculty members enthusiastically participated, displaying remarkable creativity and social awareness.
The event was conducted by Dr. Divya Chaddha, while Dr. Sajjan, Dr. Aditi, Dr. Neel, Dr. Archish, Dr. Priyanka, and Dr. Manish played key roles in its successful execution.
The week-long program proved to be informative, engaging, and impactful, emphasizing the need for accessible mental health support during disasters and emergencies and encouraging open conversations on psychological well-being.
