Jaipur, October 11 (Udaipur Kiran) — The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team from Jaipur headquarters conducted a raid at SMS Hospital on Saturday in connection with the bribery case involving Dr. Manish Agarwal, Head of the Department (HOD) of Neuro Surgery. The team seized several crucial documents from Dr. Agarwal’s two offices as part of its ongoing investigation.
The hospital administration has appointed Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Additional Superintendent of SMS Hospital, as the nodal officer to assist the ACB team during the probe. Officials said that multiple documents related to departmental purchases made under Dr. Agarwal’s supervision have been recovered and are now under detailed examination.
Acting on the directives of ACB Director General Smita Srivastava, a team led by ASP Sandeep Saraswat carried out the searches at SMS Hospital and the Medical College premises. The operation focused on all transactions made during Dr. Agarwal’s tenure as HOD, Neuro Surgery, and Additional Principal of SMS Medical College.
The ACB seized documents related to procurements, equipment purchases, store indents, and payments authorized with Dr. Agarwal’s signature. According to officials, remaining records will be sealed on Monday as part of the continued investigation.
It may be recalled that Dr. Manish Agarwal was recently arrested by the ACB while allegedly accepting a ₹1 lakh bribe. He was later produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.
