Rain Likely in Several Parts of Jharkhand on October 10, Says IMD | Udaipur Kiran

Ranchi, October 9 (Udaipur Kiran) — The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall across several parts of Jharkhand on Friday (October 10), due to the influence of a low-pressure area currently active over southern Bangladesh and nearby regions.

According to the IMD, this weather system may cause scattered showers in parts of the state, particularly in eastern and southern Jharkhand.

In the last 24 hours, Govindpur in Dhanbad district recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 37.4 mm. Other regions, including Kumardungi, Maheshpur, Baharagora, Puliya Majgaon, and Govindpur, also received between 10 mm and 25 mm of rain.

In Ranchi, thick dark clouds covered the sky since Thursday morning, leading to cooler weather conditions. The department said there is no significant change expected in temperature across the state for the next five days.

During the past 24 hours, Pakur recorded the highest temperature in the state at 35.5°C, while Latehar registered the lowest at 19°C.

City-wise, the maximum temperatures were recorded as follows:

  • Ranchi: 30°C

  • Jamshedpur: 32°C

  • Daltonganj: 32.4°C

  • Bokaro: 33.6°C

  • Chaibasa: 32.8°C

The IMD has advised residents to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions during rainfall, especially in low-lying or flood-prone areas.
