India vs West Indies 2nd Test predicted XI: Will Bumrah get rested in Delhi?

India will look to complete a 2-0 series win over West Indies as they take them on in the second Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi from October 10-14. The Shubman Gill-led side registered a massive win by an innings and 140 runs in the series opener.

The Indian team had a complete game as KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel and Ravindra Jadeja slammed centuries. On the bowling front, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav were amongst the wickets.

After a complete performance in the opening fixture, the team management is unlikely to make any changes to the playing XI for the second Test. There were only a handful of concerns in the series opener as Sai Sudharsan once again failed to make the most of his opportunity and got dismissed for 7 (19).

However, assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate has revealed that the youngster has the complete backing of the team management and will get another opportunity in the second fixture. Apart from him, Washington Sundar also didn’t get much time either with the bat or ball, taking two wickets and scoring an unbeaten 9* (13) in the match.

Hence, the all-rounder will also get another go in the second fixture. The only change that the team management can think about is resting either of the two fast bowlers, Bumrah or Siraj.

With India also set to play a two-match Test series against South Africa in November, the management can rest either of the two speedsters to bring in Prasidh Krishna, giving him his first opportunity to bowl on Indian pitches. Apart from that, the rest of the team looks settled and is unlikely to be tinkered with.

India’s predicted XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Ravindra Jadeja (vc), Nitish Reddy, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah/Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj.
