Alwar Police Bust Inter-State Gang Behind Flipkart Truck Mobile Theft; 3 Arrested, 27 iPhones Recovered | Udaipur Kiran

Jaipur, October 8 (Udaipur Kiran): In a major breakthrough against organized property crimes and online fraud, Alwar Police have busted an inter-state gang involved in stealing mobile phones from a Flipkart truck, recovering 27 Apple iPhones and arresting three key accused. The gang had stolen 226 mobile phones worth lakhs by hiring a truck with fake documents and breaking its lock mid-route.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudhir Chaudhary informed that Amrit Singh Motor Transport Company lodged a complaint stating that one of their vehicles was fraudulently rented using fake driver documents. The vehicle was loaded with 234 high-value items, including 221 iPhones 16, Vivo, Samsung S24, and Redmi smartphones, from Flipkart’s Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) warehouse for delivery.

During investigation, it was found that the accused presented forged documents under the names Nasir Khan and Chahat Khan, but their real identities were Afzal and Aslam, both residents of Gothriguru, Laxmangarh. The gang operated in an organized manner, aided by Lokesh, an insider working at Flipkart, who leaked information about valuable consignments and their transport schedules.

The accused would use fake identities to get employed as truck drivers and then, en route on the Mumbai-Delhi highway, break the truck’s lock, steal expensive mobile phones, and later sell them at cheap rates in grey markets.

Under the leadership of SHO Neki Ram, Laxmangarh Police formed a special team and launched an intensive investigation. Acting swiftly, police arrested three accused:

  • Afzal (20), son of Akbar, resident of Gothriguru, Laxmangarh

  • Aslam (28), son of Nasru, resident of Gothriguru, Laxmangarh

  • Sudhir Yadav (25), son of Ashok, resident of Aslimpur ki Dhani, Tijara

Based on their inputs, police recovered 27 Apple iPhones from their possession. All three have multiple previous cases registered against them for Apple phone thefts and are wanted in inter-state theft networks.

Police have launched a manhunt to trace Lokesh and other absconding gang members. This successful operation was carried out under the close supervision of Additional SP Kamble Sharan Gopinath and Dr. Priyanka Singh.
