Fire Breaks Out in Laundry Department of Ahmedabad’s SVP Hospital, No Casualties Reported | Udaipur Kiran

Ahmedabad, October 6 (Udaipur Kiran): A fire broke out in the laundry department of Ahmedabad’s SVP Hospital on Monday morning, causing panic among staff. The blaze originated from an electrical duct line connected to an air conditioning system. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.

Upon receiving the alert around 9:10 AM, the Ahmedabad Fire Brigade dispatched three fire tenders from the Navrangpura Fire Station to the site. Firefighters swiftly brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the hospital.

SVP Hospital CEO Saurabh Patel confirmed that the fire was confined to the laundry unit, which is separate from the main hospital building. As a result, patients and staff remained safe, and hospital operations continued without disruption after the situation was contained.

According to preliminary findings, the fire originated from an electrical duct running through the laundry section. Teams from the fire and electrical departments immediately began an investigation to determine the exact cause.

Senior officials, including the Additional Chief Fire Officer and Divisional Fire Officer, reached the spot to oversee operations. As a precautionary measure, movement inside the hospital was temporarily restricted for about 30 minutes, and electric connections in the affected section were cut off.

The hospital administration has initiated a detailed inquiry into the incident.

Notably, just a day earlier, a short circuit had caused a minor fire at Vrindavan Children’s Hospital in Paldi. The incident occurred in a consulting room meter, but no damage or injuries were reported as the room was closed on Sunday.
