J&K announces houses for families impacted during Operation Sindoor

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir govt Thursday announced free houses to the families that lost their dwellings in Operation Sindoor.A govt spokesperson said, High-range Rural Development Society (HRDS) India has signed an MoU with the divisional commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir. “HRDS India will build 1,500 free houses across the UT. These three-bedroom houses will be designed and delivered as a smart house incorporating modern features for comfort and safety,” the spokesperson said, adding that houses of terror victims will be identified to provide the aide. A 15-year life insurance coverage will also be given to the affected family members, besides monthly health check-ups and digital connectivity at the houses.“This is Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s initiative and reflects his vision of empowering and safeguarding the future of those affected by natural calamities and unprovoked shelling on civilian population by the enemy,” the spokesperson said.During Operation Sindoor, shelling from the Pakistan side had damaged residential areas, schools, religious structures, and commercial properties, leaving hundreds of families affected.
