'It's blood money': Trump adviser Peter Navarro renews attack on India; slams X fact-check

US President Donald Trump’s trade adviser Peter Navarro continued his anti-India rant on Monday while targeting the social media platform X for fact-checking his post. In his latest tweet, Navarro accused India of buying Russian oil in a move he called “blood money,” claiming New Delhi did not purchase large quantities of Moscow’s crude before the Ukraine conflict.“More bullshit from X. Fact: India didn’t buy Russian oil in large quantities before Russia invaded Ukraine. It’s blood money and people are dying. Stick that up your keister Mother Jones and shame on you,” Navarro wrote.Earlier, Elon Musk-owned social media platform fact-checked and labelled an anti-India post by Navarro as “hypocritical”. Navarro accused India of “profiteering” from Russian oil imports, continuing a series of criticisms targeting India’s trade and foreign policies, particularly its ties with Russia. In his post, Navarro wrote: “FACTS: India highest tariffs costs US jobs. India buys Russian oil purely to profit/Revenues feed Russia war machine. Ukrainians/Russians die. US taxpayers shell out more. India can’t handle truth/spins @washpo Leftist American fake news. QED.”One X note pointed out the US imports billions in Russian goods annually, including fertilizers and uranium, highlighting what contributors described as a “double standard” in trade criticisms. Another note added: “Navarro’s claims are hypocritical. India’s legal, sovereign purchases of Russian oil for energy security do not violate international law.”Navarro responded sharply to the fact-checks, accusing Musk of allowing “propaganda” on the platform and dismissing the notes as a “cr*p note.” He reiterated that India’s oil imports were purely for profit and criticized the Indian government’s messaging.
