
Bhopal, September 7 (Udaipur Kiran): After days of heavy rainfall, Madhya Pradesh is expected to see a spell of relief, with only light showers forecast over the next four days. According to the Meteorological Department, the strong weather system that was active until Saturday has now weakened, reducing the chances of heavy downpours.
On Sunday, cities including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Ujjain are expected to receive light rain or drizzle. Officials confirmed there is no alert for heavy rainfall anywhere in the state today.
Weather Update and Water Levels
On Saturday, two strong weather systems, including a monsoon trough, triggered widespread rainfall across several districts. This led to rivers and streams overflowing, while multiple dams reached capacity.

In Bhopal, heavy rainfall in the catchment areas and Sehore district pushed the Upper Lake water level to 1666.80 feet, prompting the first seasonal opening of the Bhadbhada dam gates.

In Raisen, three gates of the Halali dam were opened up to two metres each to release excess water.
