Jaipur, September 3 (Udaipur Kiran): Selected candidates in the Rajasthan SI Recruitment 2021 paper leak case have filed an appeal before a division bench of the Rajasthan High Court, challenging the order passed by a single bench. The division bench will hear the matter on September 8.
The appeal, filed by candidate Vikram Panwar and others, argues that the single bench’s order was contradictory. Advocate Alankrita Sharma, appearing for the appellants, said that while the court directed the state government to prepare and submit a detailed report to the RPSC, it also mentioned cancelling the recruitment process. She termed this contradictory, adding that the decision was largely based on the first report submitted by the SOG, the Advocate General, and the state government, whereas a later report by the government had clarified that cancellation of recruitment was not recommended.
The appeal further stated that once a new recommendation is made, the earlier one becomes ineffective. The state government’s latest report suggested that the guilty candidates could be identified and removed without cancelling the entire recruitment. The appellants also pointed out that they had already completed training and were serving their probation period. While the SOG investigated them, no evidence was found linking them to the paper leak. On these grounds, the appellants requested the division bench to set aside the single bench order.
It is noteworthy that on August 28, after hearing all parties, the single bench had directed the government to prepare a detailed report for the RPSC recommending cancellation of the recruitment. It had also ordered that the posts be included in the 2025 recruitment cycle and directed that selected candidates who had left other government services should be reinstated in their previous roles. Additionally, the bench had taken suo motu cognisance of the functioning of the RPSC and referred the matter to the Chief Justice’s division bench to be treated as a public interest litigation. That hearing is scheduled for September 10.
