Udaipur 2 September (Udaipur Kiran) – The Rajasthan government has reinstated former Udaipur Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) Secretary RAS officer Rajesh Joshi and former Deputy Town Planner (DTP) Ritu Sharma. Both officers were under suspension following allegations of violating township policy in several urban plans in Udaipur, including Rupanagar, Bhuwana, Nalfala, Wada, and Dheekli.
The reinstatement order, issued last month by Mahesh Kumar Meena, Deputy Secretary, Department of Personnel, Government of Rajasthan, has now been officially released. The decision was taken after a review by the state-level committee constituted to reconsider cases of suspension of officers. Based on the committee’s recommendations, both Rajesh Joshi and Ritu Sharma have been reinstated.
It is notable that both officers were suspended following audits and investigations covering 2022 to 2024, which alleged that they had approved several planning permissions in violation of rules, resulting in revenue losses.
Meanwhile, in a recent development, the Jodhpur High Court quashed the Udaipur Development Authority’s orders regarding cancellation of land leases in Rupanagar, Bhuwana, Nalfala, Wada, and Dheekli urban plans in response to a writ petition filed over the issue.
