
Udaipur, 1 September (Udaipur Kiran). In a major crackdown on cyber crime, Udaipur’s DST (District Special Team) and Ambamata Police Station exposed an online betting gang, arresting one accused and seizing several devices and bank cards.
As part of the ongoing cyber crime campaign initiated by Rajasthan Police Headquarters, Jaipur, and under the guidance of Superintendent of Police, Udaipur, Yogesh Goyal, a team led by Additional SP (City) Umesh Ojha, Circle Officer (West) Kailash Chandra, DST Inspector Shyam Singh Ratnu, and Ambamata SHO Mukesh Soni, acted swiftly on intelligence inputs.
On 31 August 2025, the team raided a house in Dewali Nimachkheda area and arrested accused Mayank Singh Ratnawat (30), resident of Dewali Nimachkheda. The team seized 6 mobile phones, 6 fake SIM cards, 7 debit cards, and cheque books used for illegal online betting operations.
During interrogation, Mayank Singh revealed that he, along with Arpit Singh Chauhan (Banswara) and Naval Kishore Sharma alias Medi (Navratan Complex, Udaipur), was operating illegal betting on sports like cricket, football, and tennis through a specific website. The group would create user IDs and take payments from clients for coin recharges, running online betting games. Winners would receive their payouts, while 50% of the losing amounts would be kept by Mayank and his partners, with the rest given to Naval Kishore Sharma alias Medi.
Following interrogation, Mayank Singh Ratnawat was formally arrested. A case was registered under sections 3 and 4 of the Rajasthan Public Gambling Ordinance 1949, sections 318(4), 319(2), 338, 336(3), 340(2), 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, and sections 66(B) and 66(D) of the IT Act. Further investigation is being conducted by the SHO of Hathipol Police Station.
