LPG Price Cut: Consumers have received welcome news as the government has once again reduced LPG gas cylinder prices. The start of September has brought relief for many, with oil marketing companies announcing a cut in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders. The price of the 19 kg commercial cylinder has been slashed by Rs 51.50, effective from September 1. In Delhi, this cylinder will now cost Rs 1,580.
However, this relief is only for commercial gas consumers. There has been no change in the price of the 14.2 kg LPG cylinder used in domestic households.
Traders and Hotels to Benefit
Commercial LPG is mainly used in hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and other commercial establishments. With this price reduction, both small and large traders will directly benefit. According to the Hotel Association, this step will help lower operating expenses and may reduce the burden of inflation on food prices for customers.
Domestic Consumers Still Waiting
While traders have gained relief from the reduced price of commercial gas, domestic consumers are still waiting for a price cut. With the festive season approaching, many are hopeful that the government or oil companies will soon reduce prices for domestic LPG cylinders as well. Oil marketing companies review LPG cylinder prices every month.
International crude oil and gas price fluctuations directly impact LPG rates in India, leading to both increases and decreases from time to time. Overall, the reduction in commercial cylinder prices at the beginning of September has been a welcome relief for businesses and hotels. However, household kitchens have yet to see any change. All eyes are now on the upcoming price review for a possible cut in domestic LPG cylinder rates.
