The Rajasthan High Court has cancelled the 2021 Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment on Thursday. The exam was held for 859 posts, but several trainee SIs were arrested in connection with a paper leak.
Justice Sameer Jain’s single bench had reserved the judgment on 14 August after hearing arguments from both sides. In its order, the court stated that the leaked paper had spread across the entire state. The role of six RPSC members was also found in the paper leak case. Even the Bluetooth gang received the recruitment paper. Under these circumstances, the court said, the recruitment process cannot be continued.
The court has directed that the posts from the 2021 SI recruitment be added to the new recruitment in 2025. All candidates from the cancelled 2021 recruitment will be allowed to appear in the new exam.
Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena welcomed the court’s decision, saying it was a victory for truth. He said, “There was complete fraud in this recruitment. To my knowledge, more than 500 candidates cleared the exam using unfair means.”
Petitioner’s lawyer Harendra Neel said the High Court’s order highlighted that large-scale cheating took place, even involving RPSC members. A total of 897 posts will be added to the new recruitment.
