Udaipur, August 27 (Udaipur Kiran): Known as the city of lakes and culture, Udaipur is set to witness an extraordinary celebration of art and heritage later this month. The Urban Sketchers Udaipur community will showcase its creative journey through a special exhibition titled “Lines and Stories of Udaipur – 150 Weeks of Urban Sketching” on August 30 and 31 at RK Mall.
A Showcase of 150 Weeks of Sketching Udaipur’s Soul
The highlight of the exhibition will be sketches capturing Udaipur’s timeless charm — its serene lakes, ornate havelis, bustling lanes, and vibrant chowks — all brought to life by young artists over the past 150 weeks. The opening ceremony will take place on August 30 at 11:30 AM in the presence of UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain and UCCI President Manish Galundia.
Creative Events for Art Lovers
Urban Sketchers Udaipur founder and architect Sunil Laddha shared that the two-day event will feature a series of engaging activities for visitors. These include live sketching sessions, an “Anybody Can Sketch” art talk, a watercolor demonstration, and a special Moto Art presentation by Tahir Merchant. Adding a literary twist to the event, Rajat Kahaniwala will present his signature “Sketch with Story” session, blending art with storytelling.
An Open Invitation to the Community
Laddha encouraged art lovers and residents to bring along their sketchbooks and immerse themselves in this creative celebration. According to him, the exhibition will not only deepen the appreciation of art but also offer a fresh perspective on Udaipur’s heritage, culture, and aesthetics.
This unique art festival promises to be an enriching experience for the city, showcasing the evolving creative spirit of Udaipur while connecting art, culture, and community.
