
Pakistan batter Imam-ul-Haq was hospitalised after being hit in the face in Pakistan’s 3rd ODI match vs New Zealand. Imam was forced to leave the field in the third over of the team’s chase on Saturday, April 5 after a throw from short cover slipped through his helmet to hit his face.
Imam winced in pain and dropped to the floor right after the ball struck him. He was attended by the team’s physio, and was eventually carried off the field on a medical cart. Imam was checked for concussion and was substituted later in the game by Usman Khan. The broadcaster later informed that he was hospitalised due to his injury.

Pakistan have already lost the 3-match ODI series. They lost the first two games of the 3-match series at Napier and Hamilton respectively. The Mohammad Rizwan led team were hammered in the first two matches in a team led by Michael Bracewell. In the first match, Mark Chapman scored a terrific hundred which helped the hosts to beat Pakistan by 73 runs.
In the second game, Michael Hay and Ben Sears combined to hand Pakistan a heavy defeat by 80 runs despite them chasing a score of 293 runs.
