Mumbai Indians (MI) have already qualified for the playoffs of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. But they have plenty to look forward to in their last league game on Tuesday, March 11, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Delhi Capitals (DC) will be watching the game closely as a place in the final is on the line.
The team finishing at the top of the points table will directly qualify for the final. RCB have nothing to lose after already being knocked out of the competition. But they have a chance to make life tougher for MI. If RCB win their last league game, MI would finish second, meaning that they would have to face Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator on March 13.
The Capitals finished as the table-toppers in 2023 and 2024, and would be looking to finish on top for the third year in a row. MI, on the other hand, had to play the Eliminator both times, in 2023 and 2024, and would be aiming for a direct entry into the final.
The Giants were also in contention to finish on top, but they lost to MI on Monday, March 10 by nine runs. The other team, the UP Warriorz, couldn’t make their way through to the playoffs.

MI look to carry winning momentum
Harmanpreet Kaur’s MI began their campaign with a two-wicket defeat at the hands of the Capitals, but have bounced back strongly. They now have a chance to secure their third win on the trot and dethrone the Capitals from the top of the points table.
Against the Giants on Monday, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front after scoring 54 runs off 33 balls, laced with nine fours. Defending 179, MI bowles the Giants out for 170. Amelia Kerr and Hayley Matthews picked up three wickets apiece.
