India and New Zealand are all set to battle it out in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai on Sunday, March 9. It’s a rematch of the 2000 final when the event was known as the ICC Knockouts and both teams are evenly-matched once again, just like they were almost 25 years ago. Filled with superstars and match-winners in equal amounts, the match has the makings of a classic.
India will enter the contest as favourites, but only by a small margin. Having played all their matches in Dubai, the Indian team has been sensational while chasing at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. They have won 3 out of their 4 matches while chasing with the likes of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer playing some key roles in the victories. The only game they defended a total was the one against New Zealand on March 2, when a Varun Chakravarthy 5-wicket haul helped them secure the win.

For the Blackcaps, the loss to India was a minor blip in what has been a fantastic tournament for them as they make it to the final of yet another ICC event. Having beaten hosts Pakistan in convincing fashion in their first match, New Zealand defeated Bangladesh in a tricky run chase, sealing their semi-final berth.
In the final four stage, New Zealand put on a batting masterclass against South Africa with Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson scoring hundreds and some useful cameos from Glenn Phillips and Daryl Mitchell. This was then complimented by a fine bowling performance to seal the win. With an ICC title on the line, both teams will look to bring their A-game to Dubai. So, the first thing is that there is no rain expected on Sunday. The match is expected to start at 1 pm local time, and the temperature is 34 degree celsius at that time. The temperature is expected to drop as the day goes on. However, from 3 pm, some cloudy weather is expected in Dubai, which will continue for the rest of the day.
The humidity is also expected to be ideal throughout the day as it is less than 50 percent.
