
Udaipur, October 18 (Udaipur Kiran): To ensure smooth traffic movement and public safety during Roop Chaudas and Diwali celebrations, the Udaipur City Police has issued a detailed traffic management plan. The arrangements will remain in effect from 4:00 AM on October 19 to late night on October 22, 2025, covering key routes in the old city area.
According to Additional SP (City) Umesh Ojha, heavy festive crowds are expected at the Mahalaxmi Temple, Bhattiyani Chohatta, during the Mahalaxmi Darshan and Annakoot Mahotsav, prompting temporary traffic restrictions in several parts of the city.
Traffic Restrictions

From October 19, 4:00 AM to October 22 (late night), all types of vehicles will be prohibited on the route Rang Niwas Tiraaha to Jagdish Chowk.

On Roop Chaudas (October 19), from 4:00 PM till late night, four-wheelers will not be allowed on:

Delhi Gate – Bapu Bazaar – Old Control Room – Amrit Namkeen stretch

Mandi Gate – Teej Ka Chowk – Dhanmandi Chowk – Marshal Chowraha route

Visitors can park vehicles at Surajpol Tanga Stand (new mechanised parking) and Fateh School areas.

On Diwali (October 20), from 4:00 PM till late night, vehicular entry will be banned on:

Ghantaghar – Mukherjee Chowk – Marshal Chowraha – Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Park route

Amrit Namkeen to Delhi Gate via Bapu Bazaar and Old Control Room

RMV to Sthal Mandir and Old Control Room

No four-wheeler entry from Tourist Police Station to Jagdish Chowk.

One-way traffic from Chandpol to Jagdish Chowk; return vehicles to go via Ghantaghar–Hathipol.

No vehicle entry from Jagdish Chowk to Rang Niwas.

No four-wheeler entry from Hathipol to Jagdish Chowk or from Kacheri Teli Samaj Nohra towards Brahmpol, Chandpol, and Jagdish Chowk.

Tourist buses will not be permitted inside city limits.

Heavy vehicles from Ahmedabad will stop at Balicha, and those heading toward Ahmedabad will take the Bhuwana–Pratapnagar–Balicha route.

Police have appealed to citizens to cooperate and help maintain smooth traffic flow during the festive period.
