Gujarat Tourism Brings Vibrant Pre-Navratri Festival to Udaipur | Udaipur Kiran


Udaipur, September 8 (Udaipur Kiran). Gujarat’s iconic folk dance Garba, recently recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, will now enthrall audiences in Rajasthan. In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, Government of Gujarat, is set to host the Vibrant Gujarat Pre-Navratri Festival 2025 in Udaipur.

The grand celebration will be held on 14 September 2025 at Field Club, Udaipur, with an immersive showcase of Garba, Gujarati cuisine, handicrafts, and cultural performances. The event is likely to be inaugurated by Hon’ble Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in the presence of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ms. Diya Kumari and Gujarat’s Hon’ble Tourism Minister Mulubhai Bera.

    • Prizes for best traditional attire, best Garba performances (individual, couple, group), and best uploaded reel

  • Main Festival Night – 14 September 2025, 7:30 PM onwards at Field Club, Udaipur

    • Traditional folk showcase featuring Talvar Raas, Gof Gunthan, and Maniyaro Raas

    • Live performance by renowned playback singer Parthiv Gohil with orchestra

    • Dance floor open for all Garba enthusiasts under the Udaipur night sky

    • Authentic Gujarati cuisine and craft stalls

Entry is free and open to all, though wearing traditional attire is mandatory for those wishing to participate in Garba. Guests in non-traditional dress are welcome to attend as spectators.

The festival aims to create a cultural bridge between Gujarat and Rajasthan, bringing together generations to celebrate heritage, community, and joy.

“Navratri is more than a festival; it is a way of connecting hearts,” said a Gujarat Tourism spokesperson. “By bringing Garba and our traditions to Udaipur, we invite everyone to dance, celebrate, and experience Gujarat’s vibrant spirit of togetherness.”
